Band News
For information concerning engaging the YCB for an event, contact our business manager, Paul Vaughan, at <euphonium215@yahoo.com>July 22, 2008. Heritage Festival authorities have moved the 2:00 p.m. performance on August 16 by YCB to the "Ancestor's Gathering" (south end, near Michigan Ave.) portion of Riverside Park. Audience members will need to sit on the grass or bring a chair.
July 19, 2008. Roger Sutton, former "voice" of WUOM, will serve as announcer for the YCB/YCC December 11 concert in Pease Auditorium, EMU. Dr. William Anderson, head of the MI Department of History, Arts and Libraries, and Dr. Susan Martin, president of EMU, are among the dignitaries who have confirmed attendance. Oral commitments have been received from other high-ranking state officials.
July 18, 2008. Chrissy Houle and Conner Potter, both of Saline High School, will twirl with the YCB at the Heritage Festival concert on Saturday, August 16. Both are advanced twirlers, part of the Saline Twirlettes national team, participating in national competition.. David Vaughn, bass, will perform two arias during this concert.
July 16, 2008. One of the largest audiences ever--at least in a long time--enjoyed YCB's July 15 concert in Ypsilanti's Riverside Park. John Zissis performed "Carnival of Venice," Pat Padilla conducted "Miss Trombone," and the second half of the program was a tribute to American composer Leroy Anderson.
July 3, 2008. Last night's performances by the YCB were, unfortunately, rained out. Because numerous YCB members have other commitments for tonight, YCB will NOT perform tonight under any circumstances.
